PE and Swimming

Physical Education

All children participate in PE lessons, which will include aspects of dance, educational gymnastics, games, swimming and adventurous outdoor activities (walking and orienteering). Children will participate in both indoor and outdoor session. For safety reasons, hair should be tied back and no jewellery is permitted to be worn.

Westlea have a sports coach who comes into school twice a week to work with specific groups of children that have been identified. They will take part in a range of activities that aim to:

  • Improve fine and gross motor skills.
  • Develop skills and apply them in different scenarios.
  • Promote engagement and enjoyment.
  • Foster and develop positive social interactions.

Children can wear PE kit to school on PE days.
